My Area of Interaction

Some of the areas of Interaction that are linked to the work I have completed so far are: Approaches to Learning, Community and Service moreover Health and Social Education. I have explained my understanding to what an Online Digital Portfolio is so that links to Approaches to learning. I have also written what are my achievements and thought of ways to help the community and service in my video. That links to the AOI Community ans Service. In Health and Social Education, I have thought of ways how to pass my message on and ways of communication.

All about me!

This is a video about me! My name is Nada, I am 12 years old soon to be 13 on July 20th. My school is called Emirates International school and I am in year 8. My favorite subject is English (Literacy). Talking about English, when I grow up I want to be a writer and an Illustrator since I have a passion for drawing too! My Inspiration is J.K Rowling because she is the author of Harry Potter which I am a BIG fan of. My family supports me which consists of both my sisters, Reem and Rana, my parents, Ghada and Hatem and my Grandparents. I dislike homework and tests especially Math (Numeracy). I live in Emirates and I am from Egypt, Alexandria! I have never visited any country except these. Thanks for watching! :)

In ICT, in my opinion, so far I have achieved every lesson objective. I have completed my Animoto video, written my letter, answers to 'Neville's Computer Disaster', made a delicious account, made a blogger and posted the both tasks I was given on it (this one included).

 Some of the problems I had in achieving the L.O is that in my Animoto video, I couldn't post the pictures I wanted to, however I found out it was the problem with the computer itself. The solution to my problem was like Neville's computer disaster, so using the knowledge I had, I used a backing up device to insert my information into another computer so that I can post the pictures. I also had problems in creating a delicious account, but it was solved with the help of the teacher (Thank you!). 

Now I know what a blogger, wiki and a digital portfolio means moreover what the difference between a wiki and a blog is. I know that using backing up devices are a must after saving a file in case of computer problems.

Describing Digital Portfolios

A Digital Portfolio is a goal-driven, organised collection of artefacts and reflections that demonstrates a growth or expansion of knowledge and skills over time. They represent the owner's goals, achievements, their profile and their awards. 

Three important features of a Digital Portfolio are:

1. They show the life, work, goals and achievements of the owner.
2. They allow parents and teachers to see the work of the student without interpitation of their grades.
3. If they are maintained properly, they show the progress of the student over time.

 One Advantage of a Digital Portfolio is that it shows your progress and achievement.One Disadvantage of a Digital Portfolio is that the information in a portfolio can be easily copied and pasted into another person's computer.

A wiki is a website or a database which is developed by a group of users, letting any user from the group to add or edit content.

A blog is a personal website or webpage where it's owner/user posts their opinion,  links to other sites, etc....

A wiki can be edited by a group of users, whereas a blog is edited by only it's owner/user.
