Describing Digital Portfolios

A Digital Portfolio is a goal-driven, organised collection of artefacts and reflections that demonstrates a growth or expansion of knowledge and skills over time. They represent the owner's goals, achievements, their profile and their awards.
Three important features of a Digital Portfolio are:

  1. They show the life, work, goals and achievements of the owner.
  2. They allow parents and teachers to see the work of the student without interpitation of their grades.
  3. If they are maintained properly, they show the progress of the student over time.

One Advantage of a Digital Portfolio is that it shows your progress and achievement. One Disadvantage of a Digital Portfolio is that the information in a portfolio can be easily copied and pasted into another person's computer.

A wiki is a website or a database which is developed by a group of users, letting any user from the group to add or edit content.
